I looked at Autodata belt book. It shows 2v and 4v marks for Lupo/Caddy/Polo If you need it I could try and scan it and upload or emailit

The left hand mark is 2v per cylinder so 8v, the right hand mark is for the 16v.

The coil system you were describing tends to be known as wasted spark

Took the inlet manifold off again and cleaned up everything, I will get some more plug leads and try tomorrow, and do a dark crank to see, compression tested once more as I'm loosing the will to live.lol all 4 over 13bar. Tested crank sensor again and that's flashing as I turn engine by hand. I have removed plugs one at a time and tested spark. Unless arcing in situ. After that it's the ecu but I may run to VW before that?? Anyway soldier on. Never had a car beat me yet apart from BMW where 3 injectors just went down, I found the error but couldn't believe it. BMW came to the same conclusion after 6 weeks..

Anyway thanks again and I'll keep you posted.

    Hold the matches...
All done and fixed Paul it was the Plug leads as you suggested, went to Halfords - they don't stock nor can get any.. So I went to scrap yard and got four from there.
Anyway all done so big thanks to all.
Wouldn't have believed it I took the plugs out and placed in the leads last night and all fired OK..
Just goes to show - I feel ashamed to say I was an electrician for years and have also done Auto electrics..
    Everyday is a school day
I have also uploaded testing Sensors to YOUTUBE sorry it's not great..

and if anyone needs a copy of the full and complete Valve replacement guide I’ve done please let me know.

MOT time next - BIG THANKS!
