Automatic Start\Stop not working

Hi,

We have a 2009 '09' Passat Estate (Bluemotion 2).

The auto start\stop use to work happily but now I have noticed it does not work.

The manual mentions some criteria which needs to be met and i'm fairly confident all of these have.

Something which is strange is that on the instrument cluster there is no information displayed regarding the status of the Start\Stop system (Example. If you used to hold the button for auto start\stop next to the gear stick the dash would display the 'A' with a slash through it indicating that the system is disabled) this does not happen anymore, there is no info at all displayed. The auto start\stop button by the gearstick does illuminate (with dash lights and goes orange when pushed in for 2-3 seconds)

I have a ross-tech VCDS cable and have scanned the modules but no errors are been detected.

My guess is the battery could be weak (Check with multimeter and its above 12v) and the car gets driven a good 65 miles per day and has been starting fine with ever lowering temperatures (So far...)

My next suspicion is something like the interior sensor has died and thus preventing the system from working? (Can you check this in VCDS?)

However, my 2 ideas could be rubbish as I would of thought you would still see info displayed on the dash regarding the status, ie, disabled or not available etc.

Could it be a fuse?

Thanks for any tips, failing that ill have to drop it in to a garage from them to try and fix.

Yes it looks like the regulator has turned off stop/start due to poor battery performance.
