    front wheel drive. all 4 or just the fronts , what do you all think ?

    All of them. If you do just the fronts on a fwd you'll get traction ok but the back end is highly likely to break away.

    I've managed ok with two winters on front & summers on the back for a year. Col's on the money though as far as being planted to the road goes, the rear end is slightly twitchier on certain occasions such as greasy roundabouts etc.

    all 4 it is then. trying not to use the disco this winter unless things get really bad and i am skint at the moment, having spanked all my money on a new rc car or 3, oh and just rebuilt the front room as well, so looking at part worns 4 michy's for just over a ton isn't bad, just got to work out what size to go for as there's not alot out there in my 205 60 15 size, so looking at 195's instead. a bit thinner won't hurt, in fact they should be better in snow.

    Are there are any insurance companies that give a lower premium for having winter tyres? They should do as they're a lot safer, would make a lot of sense.

    snowman in hells chance....they are more likely to charge more for having them! Used to be considered a modification so they hit you with an extra charge....all *******!
