You should have kept the new circuit board and swapped the microchips or used the old circuit board and swapped the microswitches. Microswitch swap is easier if you are not into soldering microchips.
Cars been ok for couple of months now not heard a thing back from the people we sold it to so crossfingers its worked fine to date , will let anyone know if i here from them

Quatrelle, the service you have received is not something the VW personnel are trained to give, it is an endemic problem in the trade and society itself, only Jaguar seem to have been able to shake it off and treat customer like people, not c*nt5tomers as I have heard dealer personnel refer to them as. Unfortunately some customers can be *****, but that is another subject in itself.

Crasher, having completely hijacked this thread, let me just finish by saying that my letter to the CEO of VW in Germany regarding their policy on injector replacement was passed to VW France who said that it's not their policy to resolve problems that haven't occurred.

The best bit was when I spoke to the manager of the service dept in my dealers a couple of years ago about reports on this forum of injector failures. His reply was that I shouldn't believe things I read on UK forums....

Yes, I remember you relating that at the time and it made me smirk, the French just don't like us, its about time we realised that.

Just a little update to say the fix I did nearly two years ago still seems to be working fine in my passat. Glad the photos are still helping people :-)
