B6 TDI Cruise retro-fit dramas..

Really want cruise retro-fitting to my B6 TDI avant. Got in touch with Swift Car Electrics up here in Newcastle only to be told they contacted Audi and there isn't a kit available??? Undeterred I found a guy nearby through Ebay, £150 fitted, brilliant. Got in touch and he said as it's a manual it'll need a different steering ECU which is an additional £100?? So, can anyone tell me outright if cruise is available for my car and how much I can expect to pay?

I've retro fitted cruise to my car,
first thing you need to know is which steering module is currently in your car, The dealers are generally reluctant to tell you what is in your car because they want you to have them fit it, however, I ordered my cruise control arm from them as its only £25 then my dealer was happy to tell me what parts were in my car from the number plate lol
once I had this info I jumped on eBay and sourced the correct steering ecu module, paid £40 for a q model, but its luck of the drawer obviously, it cost me £25 to have fitted and coded by a local ex Audi man (which I think is amazing value)
Works like a dream. Please see the info below I used re the ecu module compatibility, Highline are the safest bet modules, hope this is of help to anyone, and really isn't as much hassle as it may sound.
Lowline ECUs
(WILL NOT ACCEPT CRUISE CONTROL)
8E0-953-549-F 8E0-953-549-S

Midline ECUs
8E0-953-549-L, 8E0-953-549-N

Highline ECUs
8E0-953-549-M, 8E0-953-549-P, 8E0-953-549-Q, 8E0-953-549-R
