    Hello,

Been reading a lot of articles and am gnerally confused as to what I need for an RNS E upgrade.

I want to upgrade to the latest RNS E but an not sure if I need an aerial adapter a GPS aerial or anything else for it to work properly.

    My car currently has:

    Concert Stereo
    MFSW
    Aux In
FF Bluetooth with adapter in centre armrest and
    Sharkfin on the roof

Can anyone advise what I need to buy and if there is anyone in the North East who could fit it for me. I want to do it properly.

    Thanks for any help.

    Thanks Chris,

Will my shark fin aerial act as the gps antenna and should the connection be there in the dash when I take the Concert radio out? or am I better off using the GPS antenna that will come with it?

Also, do I need to alter anthing for the radio aerial or the Aux in functionality?

    Thanks again

    Dan

you will get a gps antenna with the rnse which will need to be placed above the glovebox - it needs to be removed to be placed butu its only 8 8mm bolts holding it in.

everything you need will be in your concert already (quadlock and fm radio antenna)

afaik cars fitted with bluetooth from factory use the sharkfin and wiring changes would be needed for merging both bluetooth and gps

aux in - you need a 1J0 972 977 G from audi to move the aux in pins from the quadlock into the media connector on the rnse

a simple change in coding within vcds will sort everything out

    Thanks Chris,

Got the connector now,RNS E is on the way.

There is a local tuning place gonna code it all up for me. Not sure he does much on this side of things so what codes do I need him to change (I have MFSW, Bluetooth and Aux In from factory)?

Am I correct in thinking Ineed him to change the bluetooth to High aswell?

    Thanks again.

Good job - I replied to a similar thread with all the coding so I will hoke that out tomorrow and let you know.

BT should be fine although it will need coded to tell it its now connected to a RNSE not a Radio hu

    Thanks Chris,

I have done some digging and have come up with the following coding:

    for the RNSE 0205755
    Bluetooth 0011402

    Does this look correct?

    Thanks Again.

    Looks good but I'd try

RNSE - 0205555 - never understood the phone option within the coding so always try the 5 and 7
Telephone - 0011422 - you will have english voice control changing the second last to 2

    Hi Chris,

I've seen you've replied to a few similar posts about this so I thought I'd drop you a mail to see if you could help me with this upgrade.

Basically, I'm looking to upgrade the radio in my car (Audi A3 2009 1.4 TFSi) to either the Audi RNS-E or this Multimedia radio which already has bluetooth but looks a bit cheap (see attached.)
ETO Stereo for Audi A3 Car Multimedia GPS Navigation Sat Nav DVD Radio Bluetooth | eBay

I can get the multimedia one for 350euro but I was wondering if you knew anywhere I could get an RNS-E MK1/2 and bluetooth module? I know it'd be more expensive but I think it would be better to have the actual Audi parts as opposed to some cheap knock off.

Also I have a factor fitted iPod unit in the glove box and Aux input beside the handbrake. I assume if I get the RNS-E these will work fine.

Anyway let me know if you know of anything,

    Cheers,

    Rory
