    Hi

about a week or so ago the indicators stopped flashing when locking and unlocking my 2002 saloon. I had been about to visit the garage but today they seem to have come back to life and operate as normal. Has anyone else come across this before or can anyone tell me the cause. The doors did lock properly.

The passenger footwell carpet is totally dry.

    Thanks

    Rob

I had this on my MK4 Golf, they just stopped working and I never did fathom it out despite doing numerous output tests with vagcom. The alarm still functioned as it should only the indicators didn't flash.

    Helpful, not!

No, they've gone again! Its almost as if something is getting water in as when we had a few good weather days last week was when they came back to life, now the weathers back to normal, not working!

Hi. have same problem with my Skoda Superb, I had a look at Haynes VW Passat manual and it looks like a fault at the convenience unit as this sends the signal to indicators when central locking is operated.
I previously had a problem with boot/glove comp./footwell lights and the fault was there, it was repaired at a Skoda Dealer so I did'nt get to see this unit myself, and I would be fairly sure no preventative maintenance was carried out .
hope this is of some help,
    Regards

Have you checked around the passenger footwell for water, the convenece module lives there and the passat is notoroius for leaking water onto it.
