    Hi,

My Audi A6 doesnt have the AMI dock connector in the glove box, just the DVD player with 2xSD slots and multi CD changer. It does have a connection plate in the armrest (which I assume is for an Audi type phone). My question is can I connect my ipod or Ipod on Iphone to the MMI and listen to my music?

    Cheers

    Kevin

    You will need AMI 3G

This requires an online connection to Germany to code it to the car so I'm afraid an Audi only retrofit.

Press TEL on your control panel and see if it asks you to search for a phone.

It doesn't ask for a phone but then is that because its already connected to the iPhone through Bluetooth?

Yes - you can buy a cradle for the armrest but this provides charging.

    They're about £120.

I installed the Kufatec AMI 3G kit a few weeks ago to my 2011 C6, it didn't require a connection to germany. Is only a 1 hour job, and comes with a plug in for the ODB port to automatically program it.

Fair enough - I thought all 3G addons needed a connection but there you go.

Mine is a C6 with MMI3G navigation rather than a C7 which I hear they are more Dealer tied.

Just to be sure... In facelift cars like yours, the AMI port is located in the roof of the glovebox towards the left-hand side, if fitted. It's very easy to miss. I had to get my head down into the footwell area and look upwards into the glovebox to spot where it was on my last C6. If you're spectacularly lucky, you might have AMI but not realise

    Cheers!
