    Mileage at remap 43000.

In normal driving I leave the box in D. This covers most situations, the DSP learning your style of driving. Dropping into S makes the throttle more responsive, holding the gears to the red line. If I'm 'concentrating' then I use the paddles. This allows you to down shift sooner than the gearbox would normally want to in 'auto'.

Great, so drive pretty much like without the map it seems, i do find in S Mode the gearbox will still change up if you leave it in the gear you want to still use for a while, e.g. holding onto to third pre empting an overtake it will shift to 4th after 8-10 seconds of no action.

Hopefully with a remap and an increase in torque the gearbox wont decide to work so hard.

    Cheers

The best part of a mapped car is the instant response from lower in the rev range. My previous 'car' (a Citroen C8 2.2Hdi) I also had mapped early in it's life with me (9 years). That also benefitted from a greater rise in torque lower in the rev range. Gear changing was less (manual), overtaking urge more accessable and fuel consumption improved.
I have found the same benefits with the Revo map. Top end power is not so important, especially in a diesel, but the best parts of running a diesel, especially a turbo diesel, mid range torque ands fuel economy (like for like comparedd with a petrol car) are improved.
I had always admired the A6 3.0TDI, and now able to afford my dream car, I couldn't resist the temptation of 'enhancement'. You can never have enough until you have too much (power !).

problem I have now is I want more power!! been talking to some specialist about getting her up to mid to high 300's while still being reliable & pleasant to drive gently

    2007 3.0 tdi le mans : Hybrid turbo decat : miltek etc : 330-350 bhp : 450-500lbsft

Visibility pack. Adaptive xenon, Privacy glass. Bose surround. Dvd nav. Comms pack, led plate lights.

I would quite happily demonstrate the enhancement to my car (as I say a 3.0TDI (233) quattro auto) to anyone reasonably local who may be thinking of something similar, if their car is the same engine, to see the difference between their currently standard A6 and a Revo remapped car. I have no connection with Revo or the local specialist who carried out the mod.

Pity that a 'gathering' of like minded individuals couldn't be organised for something like this. I was umming and arring about having the mod done, but my experience with my previous car swung me to having it done. Some cars benefit more than others. I would say that those who have the 2.0TDI (either 136 or 170) would get the best improvement. The 2.7 and 3.0 TDIs less so because the original Audi engine map is close to optimal, not programmed for low emissons or mpg.

Another three weeks (1000 miles) has gone by with a long weekend spent touring the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorks Moors. I can definately say that the remap is worthwhile. After initial 'playing' with the better mid range urge and traffic light get away (even surprises sports bike riders who sneak to the front of queues) the best thing is the improvement in the recorded mpg on the computer for 'normal' driving. This has gone from about 26-28mpg to over 32mpg (7 miles each way to/from work with half town and half unlimited dual carriageway). Mine is an auto and I am a lead foot, enjoying the 'Q' car nature of my model.
    Thanks for this, good information.
How did you get £380 my quote was £500.. ??

Shame your a Lincoln lad Bentley, as I would like to compare our cars, but anyway, I've provisionally booked mine in for a remap with Flash Remapping as not only are they local but Dave is very knowledgeable and always happy to answer my questions. Hopefully looking at estimates of 270bhp and 400lb/ft.

I'll post a review in the next week or so.
