Hi,
My dad has a 1993 Audi 80 2.0 8v SPI (ABT Mono-Motronic)
The car starts and idles fine but for a short distance when driving off cold the engine splutters and kangaroos (like fuel starvation) and then will drive perfect the rest of the day. This only happens for the first few moments driving off cold after it has stood for several hours (or overnight). I was told to check the ecu temp sensor and that appears to be working ok (Hot engine 300ohms & cold 3000).

This model doesn't have a cold start injector but it does have an intake manifold heater and I noticed when checking with a digi meter there is no voltage at the terminal with ignition on. Do you think this could be the problem? I wasn't sure if perhaps the heater only operates below a certain temp or if there should be battery voltage at the plug end on ignition? All fuses are ok.
