Did a torsion value/syncro angle adjustment to my golf last weekend and afterwards torqued the camshaft sprocket bolts up to 25nm(might have been closer to 28nm as torque wrench marking bit obscure) as recommended anyway i had read somewhere to check them for torque a few days later after a few runs(hot cold cycles) which i have just done and i was able to tighten them slightly before reaching the same torque,so my question is would these bolts have come loose, would they have stretched or are they on the verge of snapping/stripping and are they likely to snap whilst driving, might seem a stupid question but just curious as to why i was able to retorque.

Very unlikely to be stretched by 25nm.

Things settle after use. Vibration, expansion and contraction all affect the mating faces of threads. Happens with wheel bolts, studs and nuts too. Always worth checking after some use.
