    Hi guys,

I have just bought a 2003 GT TDi 130 which has the VW Gamma head unit and single CD. It also has the steering wheel controls for the volume and track skip.

I would like to fit a 6 CD changer, but i am slightly confused as to which model i need - there seem to be loads of different ones on eBay!

    I have seen a few:

    VW Part No. 6X0057110

    VW Part No. 3B7 035 110

Also, do i need to do anything special to ensure the steering wheel controls still work??

Many thanks in advance for your help!!

    Dan

not sure how mucha cd changer is for your car, but have you thought about an iPod(or other mp3 player) and the connection kit, they can hold a lot more than 6 CD's

    Just an idea

Thanks mate, just had a read (https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=11449) sounds like the unit is slightly different, but can be converted via a cable interconnect to work. Looks like it doesn't really matter which unit i go for.

Thanks for the suggestion buddy; I have an iPod video 30Gb; what are the options that are compatible with my Gamma setup? Don't really want an iTrip; too unreliable. I guess i could get a tape connector for the iPod?

There are a number of options available to you.

FM Transmitter - bit pants really
3rd party iPod connector - like the connects2 device
VW iPod adaptor for your stereo

With the connects2 and vw unit, it replaces and fools the headunit into thinking there is a CD Changer connected.

I fitted an Audi one to my car very easily, I had to drill one hole for lead to pass through to the glovebox - connected it up and it's great.

    See this for my installation:

See this for all other iPod related questions and awnswers:

Any other questions, then please ask.

    Just won this:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=180146000322

Any tips on how to remove the old single CD? I am picking up the new 6 CD above tomorrow in London.

Got the changer this morning, fitted it this afternoon in Halfords car park!

Hardest part was getting the old units out - it was as though they were glued in! Halfords standard tools pants, but got them out in the end after about 45 of fiddling.

Unit works fine, steering wheel controls all ok, well pleased.

May consider iPod connectivity later, obviously this can suppliment the existing setup.

Now to list my VW single CD player on eBay to try and recoup some of my cash!!

    Thanks for the advice.
