    Hi
    I have a problem that sometime on my audi a4 2002 2.4 instrument panel is flashing gear lights I have automatic gear..
    does anyone know what does it means?

    there is a fault within the gearbox module

    get it scanned with vcds to pinpoint the problem

    where abouts are you as your location is vague.

    It will probably go into limp mode but not 100% on that.

    Look at the bottom of this thread and there are similar questions posted.

    sorry I am new with all this name what thas it mean Limp mode?
    I just bought car week ago and worried that it is nothing serious..

    It's like a 'safe' mode for the car.

    It restricts the power to stop any damage occurring.

    It may and it may not go into limp but you need it scanned ether way.

    Sounds like early warning of multitronic gearbox failure imminent.
    Get the car scanned for faults ,with vagcom/vcds diagnostic equipment
    A6 2.4 SE (2000)S3 1.8T (2001)80 Coupe 2.3 (1991)
    A3 1.8T sport (1997)A4 3.0 QST (2002)
    80 Coupe 2.6S (1995)A4 Cab 2.4 sport (2002) Another 2.6 '95 coupe in byzanz purple
    '88 type 89 90 saloon kv 5 pot A4 1.8T 2001

    previous with A6 been in audi centre it is too expensive for me..
