    Hi There

Has anyone been running the new model A6 2.0TDI (177) for a while? I picked mine up on Friday (14th), been doing runs from Worcester to Bristol for 4 days, 5 mins town driving then mway all the way, tried efficiency setting, turning aircon off and driving very moderately (70ish on mway)....so far best mpg I have manged to get out of the car is 39.2.....compared to my old A4 2.0TDI which used to deliver 49-50mph whilst driving a little more spritely.....the book figures are 47mpg for urban, 57mpg combined and 64mph extra urban.....I bought the car under the illusion that the new more efficient TDI would be better than the old A4....so far I am dissapointed. Also huge road noise on the mway but then I do have the 20" alloys.

Does the mpg increase considerably as the engine wears in, currently only done about 400 miles so may be too soon to know, dealer dont seem to be bothered when asked and suggested that I should ignore the book figures....any thoughts would be greatly received

    Audi Avant 3.0 TDi (204) s-line - 360 miles on the clock.

Just drove from Winchester to London - kept the cat at 70 MPH - on cruse - got 51 MPG.
Return trip gave 45 MPG - was a little more 'assertive' on the peddle....

Also the trip to London is essentially down hill - so expected a better MPG anyway...

But very please with the MPG I am getting

I've got the same model, 7 months old. At first got 45 mpg on a return daily trip of 50 miles at 75mph average using economy mode. I now get 50 mpg using auto mode. Tyres are renowned to be noisy, especially on the larger sized wheels.
