BOSE sound system in an A6 Avant

Better - I dont think it is as good as the B&W system I had in the Jag overall. I think it's a little bit better in the seperation on sounds, but bass is not as good. It may be that there sub in the Jag as a boot to give it the necessary enforcement in the bass, where as since my Audi is an Avant, it doesnt have the benefit of the 'sound box' to use for re-enforcement.

But I think the Bose sound is something I can live with.

It would seem that our American cousins are having some real issues with their Bose The Bose Stereo. Or, how I learned to stop worrying and love crappy audio. - AudiWorld Forums systems. Looks to me as if the MMI software in the US has a serious bug in it

I'm glad it seems to be getting better. My interest is significant as I have just ordered an A6 avant and ordered the BOSE upgrade on it. However, I didn't order the AMI. I am going to get that on as well, as from what I can gather this is what I require to get ipod functionality on the display?

I would say that the BOSE has better sound than the standard default - especially when the car is driving long on the motorway (I had a standard sound system in my roadtest car).... but I would suspect that the BOSE is not as good as the B&O systems - but then it is no where near the cost of the B&O.

Since there are only three choices, Standard, BOSE and B&O - I think the BOSE is the best compromise - between sound and money - my only comment relative to the previous car I had (the XF), where I added the B&W systems (at about the same price as the BOSE) - the B&W sounded better...

how do you know when you have Bose, is there a bose sticker on the speakers or anything?

Your speaker grills will have a chrome BOSE logo
