    I need to renew my rear discs on my R reg a4 avante 1.9tdi auto with ABS i have noticed the disc includes a integral bearing will i have to replace with the same unit or can i replace with a normal disc and a seperate bearing the front seem to be seperate?

    hi deano2, i just replaced my rear discs and used new wheel bearings too cos they're dirt cheap from euro car parts. just stick the bearing seats in the freezer for an hour or so then you can use a brass drift or similar to tap them into place. grease and fit the rear race, followed by the grease seal,then the front one when the disc is in place. you will also need to tap the abs ring off the old discs with a punch through the wheel bolt holes and fit to the new ones

    Hi,
    Just changed rear discs on my Audi 1999 Tdi and was advised to change ABS rings at same time, glad I did, old ones looked thin and brittle and there not too expensive either, Audi charging £12.49+vat each but managed to buy at Europarts for £9.00
