The osram night breakers that I got are still H7 and seem good. The H7R - did it have extra wiring after all?

H7R bulbs are still just HID retrofits with a legal sounding name. They are most definately illegal in the UK though (I see you are in Romania).

BTW, how would you know they are not dazzling other drivers? Maybe they are too polite to flash you...

I have to say I find them extremely distracting, often triggering the start of a headache if they are on a following car for anything other than a short period of time. Really wish the police would clamp down on them with the same passion they have for speeding and people using mobiles wile driving,

    1. Because the bulbs are H7R, anti glare made. 90% of drivers just insert simpe H7 HID, and the arc defeats the reflector made for halogen 2. I have had my car driven by someone else to see for myself,(i was sitting in another car) and there is much difference between regular H7 HID conversions and H7R. 3. If 1 & 2 is not enough, I have driven the car night time for more than 15 hours, at least --one-- car should have flashed me, just as I flash other glaring drivers. The light output is pure white when the bulbs are fully "charged", no tint of blue.

Its just changing the bulbs of the DRL's so yes, it would be no problem. If you are talking about the LED strip, I think that would be more involved, with or without the bulb covers.
