I had an engine light on the car this evening and plugged in the VCDS to see what it was about. I got the following fault:

I cleared the code and went back into fault codes and it was back, so I believe it needs to be replaced....
Are these expensive to buy from audi or would you buy else where? Awkard to fit?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Any more info?

Looking at your log/guessing is it a 2.0 TDi? CAGB engine code? as yours facelift A6...

Is car overheating? if coolant pump failing on other cars owned seen they drip/leak as sign of imminent failure...

As pump mechanical my opinion as meddler/owner ( ) that it may be a electronic control valve or something on cooling circuit??

Model year and engine code required. It sounds like you have a faulty over-run coolant pump. Regards Peter

    Hi Peter,

Its a 2009 S Line 2.0 tdi 170 CR with multitronic, engine code CAHA. I havent had any coolant loss or noticed any leaking so far, I cleared the code and started the engine and the engine warning light remained off this time but when I checked for the fault code again it came back.

    Hi Gupsterg,

Its a CAHA enging code on a facelifted model (2009) No leaks or drips noticed. I haven't had any overheating problems either.... Might require a trip to Audi.... I have vcds if anyone knows how I should go about trouble shooting this....

Pics attached of what I believe to be the auxiliary pump, as I said no coolant loss or leaks found

Thanks gupsterg. Do you know what the difference between the two pumps? Different design? Is one more reliable than the other?
