    Hi guys,

I have almost completed the retrofit HALOGEN --> Xenon LED DRL AFS2 but I found a big problem with the installation of the G76 rear sender.

It has to be fitted onto the the same bolt that keeps the upper transverse link of the suspension, but due to its position it is almost inaccessible to the fingers, let alone any tool.

Indeed Elsawin suggests to disassemble the hole subframe to remove the bolt, which obviously I cannot do in my driveway!

Has anybody already attempted the same retrofit, and if so what advice about this problem?

In the worst hypothesis, any good and reliable garage in the SE19 and SE20 areas to have it done professionally?

    Cheers,

    Stefano

So this is the sensor?? Link:- Audi Portal: Sensors Diagnostic . Audi A6 4F (2005- ). G76 Ξοθρΰνθε

Not done/no experience of this... BUT...

    Found this....

Removing and installing rear vehicle level senders

Renewing vehicle level sender with subframe in vehicle

    - Remove wheel.

    - Unplug connector

    - Remove bolt

    - Unscrew bolts with angled spanner. Take care not to bend upper retaining plate.

    - Take out vehicle level sender.

    - Prepare replacement part accordingly and install.

Tried double checking as much and this info relates to the rear level sensor as the front is a different section/file...

If you wish to have PDF with diagrams/more detail please email me on the address I have sent you in PM

Sorry can not be more help

    Hi Gupster!

Thanks for the info, I have Elsawin and indeed it refers to what you sent me...the subframe is in the vehicle and the sensor is already installed.

My problem is that I need to install it, and it goes into a bolt that is not easily accessible.

I think I will have to take the car to a garage and ask them to do it.

    Thanks anyway!

I think I've understood your predicament...

The sensor is attached to a plate... the plate attaches to the bolt on the upper transverse link of the suspension which is towards main body...

So it look like if you have factory fit xenon's and need to replace sensor it is a case of just removing the two bolts holding sensor to plate on upper TL and one bolt on trapezium link...

What a mare!! thank god I got a car with xenons factory fitted..

As your location say "London" Link:- Audi Volkswagen Skoda Seat Independent Specialist London

I have not used this garage yet, but seemed reasonable on ££ for what I maybe using them for soon...

Sorry can't be more helpful... maybe another will come along with a better post

it's likely that Audi have a special tool at a certain angle to achieve this. You may need to modify a tool to achieve the same.

    Perhaps a visual aid...

    *** PM for info/to be updated ***

20 is the bolt AFAIK he wish to remove to install carrier plate for G76 and as he say "upper transverse link bolt", 1 is the upper transverse link

21 is the carrier plate for G76, 22 is G76

So if carrier had been in place items 18 & 19 are unbolted to renew sensor

Gupster lol I made the same image but with rounds instead of squares....Yes that is the damn bolt!

You can put a wrench on it but then there is little room to move it upwards to unlock it.

The plate (21) that holds the sensor has a small guide that inserts into a hole, so I am thinking that after connecting the sensor to the suspension and the guide is inserted something could be used to keep the plate against the bolt...an extensible rod? Just a temporary solution...

I tried to have quick view of mine from underneath car but due time was not able to take look fully or photo... maybe you can and post

I'm assuming where the bolt is the chassis/wheel arch section comes around it/creates lack of space... I did not look at torque levels on that bolt but would assume would be high... so gonna be a real PITA...

No idea but will have a mull, perhaps soon another will come along with idea... JoshA6 is quite right for some instance's (a lot) Audi have a tool which will do job easily...

I had same situation with the lower bolt on rear brake calliper but persisted and was able to undue it with a universal joint/ext.bar/low socket... Link:- Rear Disc Change

The tool required was made by Link:- Stahlwille UK

Due to licensing laws by Audi not available to buy in the UK their rep told me...

BUT available in the USA Link:- Baum Tools - Tool Listing

If any info/idea come to mind will certainly post

    Hello again everyone,

I am still fighting with the AFS2 retrofit and I hope somebody in this forum has done it already and maybe can help

    - Headlights 029 DH and 030 DH
    - All bulbs tested with external battery, all control modules are present. LEDs work with battery
    - Installed new bumper with headlight washer system (tested and working)
    - Central Electronics 09 with 289 K for DRL, coded "5" for DRL with washer system
    - 09 pinouts modified 4-6-8 and 1-2-15 as from other posts and forum
    - Car originally with halos, so got a Kufatec connector that had a different pin for the sidelight, now corrected

Only main Xenon beams work, LEDs do not work and according to VCDS they are not receiving power

Am I missing something with the connections?

I am aware that the LEDs should have 2 wires connected to power (4-6) but on the 09 module is does not seem to work...anybody has modified pins at headlights?
