    Hi all

My old BMW 3 series has seen better days and I am looking to replace it soon. I thought that the Audi A5 would be out of my budget range, however, I have found 2 A5's - one is a 1.8TFSi and one is a 2.7TDi, both on an 08 plate and all with just over 100,000 miles on the clock, and a full Audi service history. The cars are selling for just under £9,000.

The question I have is whether I should be worried about buying an A5 with such high mileage? I know that VAG diesel engines can run to the ends of the earth, but I have no experience of their petrol versions.

I only drive around 8,000 miles per annum and I hope to keep the car a while, so I wouldn't be too worried about residual values.

Any comments or advice would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Gordon

Don't touch the petrol.....the diesel will be fine....as long as it's had an EGR cooler & a pair of intake manifolds!!!

I suggest you to found some other car. I am suggesting you to buy the Audi A5 but not 10,000 millage because you can imagine that how the condition of the car after running 100,000 miles/km so please try to found some other seller not this because I think it is not good for you.

All depends on the condition of the car in YOUR eyes. I would go for diesel all day long night just be that the engine is just about breaking in. I wouldn't get the 1.8t with 100k.

100k is such a psychological baroque e come sale time, but the diesel will be fine as they go on and on.

    My A4 B7 hitting 200k and counting!
