V6 TDI oil

Hi, I would like to change the oil in my A4 2.5 tdi sport cabriolet. It is currently on long life oil but I have heard that Longlife oil is not all its cracked up to be and would like to change mine as it only gets used in the summer. T he selection seems to be a bit of a mine field.
Please can anyone advise me.

You can still use the same oil but change it every 12-15K miles as I do and get the ECU setting changed to fixed intervals.
I use Fuchs Titan GT1 longlife 3 5W-30 fully synthetic in the avant. Mainly because I can get this in 20litre barrels for £60
Have you tried the opie oils website. Oils, lubricants, fuel treatments, spark / glow plugs and much more for your car

Agree with the above, reduce the frequency but keep the type and grade, mine is done yearly or every 10k miles and is driven very hard, no problems so far

I tend to think the long life servicing schedule is the real problem? The long life oils are probably very very good as oils go...
