90k Service

Just a short one - My Golf is at 89200 and has just had it's 7th service (so much for long life as that's one every 13k or so).

Nothing to report and it got a once over as it might be on its way to a fellow forum reader - I'm looking forward to my Audi and I can say this to anyone looking at the Mk7: Don't, get a late Mk6, it's nicer

Are the delivery times for your new A3 as slow as VW, what did they quote you?

I was quoted 16 weeks originally, but I've been told that 13th May is the "official" delivery date, but that's an 8 week build time....

Just goes to show how much driving style affects the long life service period - i got 19.5k miles between services, and 1k miles after that it showing another 18k miles to go. Not that that will be bothering me, i'll be behind the 4 rings i 10 days time

nothing as fancy as yours James - i'm going for a 10 month old 8P Sportback, another 1.6TDI in Sport trim with a few necessary extras. Not exactly thrilling but its only the commuting / family hack and practicality has a part to play. Plus I get my thrills from my other weekend toy. I looked at a 8V but by the time I'd spec'd it I was up to £23k without going silly on options, and at that price it was near 50% more than a barely used 8P which didn't make financial sense to me.

Yeh, the 8v is expensive, but as it's a company car, I'm less bothered - I do wish I'd gone for the Beluga Brown though...
