Ok so my heater has stopped working on my 57 reg MK5 Golf.
The blower still works, just no hot air, it would appear to be stuck on cold.
I have removed the heater/blower control unit below the radio as I thought the cable at the back may have come disconnected.
There is no cable plugged in the back of the unit so I assume it has (if it has a cable at all, there is a hole which I assume is for one)..... problem is I have spent the last 1.5 hours removing things to try and locate the cable so I can reconnect it and the cable is nowhere to be seen. I have no idea what to do now. Is there actually a cable? Where does it originate from? I was thinking I could trace it back but I cant even establish that. Any suggestions appreciated.
    PLEASE HELP!
    Chris

Thanks that does help somewhat.... Do you know where it comes from what colour it may be any details that may help me find it as i've spent ages looking to no avail.
Do you know if its possible for it to pull through somewhere out of sight? I've had the radio etc out, glovebox and the cover to the right hand side of the passenger footwell and still cannot find it....
    Thanks

I have just spent another hour taking it all apart and having another look. Still no good, nothing.
Can anyone advise where the cable starts as i've looked behind the dash and under the steering wheel etc.
Reluctantly I'm thinking it may have to be a visit to the garage....

I need you to look at your data sticker and see if you have 9AA, 9AK or 9AP HVAC. I think you may have the 9AP semi automatic system which uses a computer controlled temperature flap motor and if so you will need a diagnostic computer.

Don't only the basic cars with no aircon had the cable, and those with the climatic aircon unit have a thermostat based system?
    2002 Polo 9n 1.2 65PS. Basic but it's better than the train!
