    Hi guys,

For a while now I've had an issue with using the bluetooth and the Nav at the same time. Basically phone on it's own works fine. Nav on it's own again fine. Have both on, fine until you get a call. Sound is fine, both radio and nav voices mute to allow the call to take place. Then next time the Nav gives a verbal instruction, no Nav but the audio volume goes right up momentarily then back to normal.

Worked out that in this circumstance, the MMI is increasing the volume to what it thinks is the Nav voice but in fact is whatever audio is selected, even if that volume is muted or very low. Makes you jump and only way to reset is to turn off car or stop nav altogether.

Over time I've checked and corrected the MMI coding as this was wrong, and updated the MMI and nav versions, all to no avail.

Then today I was just re-reading the Kufateck install manual and spotted a small setting that I am hoping will fix this.

From what it says it looks like this is a known issue and there is a setting under navigation to turn nav voice guidance off when the phone is connected. OK not ideal but better than having to kill the nav en-route if someone phones you.

So the setting in case it's of use to anyone is NAV then SETTINGS. Scroll down to VOICE GUIDANCE, set it to OFF(PHONE). I presume this stops voice guidance only when the phone is connected. Will do a test run soon and confirm.

Just in case it's of use to anyone.

That's what I have mine set to, noticed it when I got the car and was pairing the phone for the first time.

How does the Fiscon suit the MMI? I had one in my A3 but found it very slow to respond the odd time.

    Hey Chris,

It generally works well, didn't realise it was aftermarket initially. Apart from nav issue its been good. One thing I noticed recently is the signal strength meter in MMI screen isn't same always as phone. So you can get no signal on phone but MMI says good, you make a call, nothing happens (strangely enough) and then it won't disconnect for a while which was confusing.

So generally OK, tbh I don't use it much as prefer to focus on driving rather than taking calls but it's there if I need and was fitted to car before I got it so can't ask for a refund !!

Must be a kufatec thing, some people despise them for being buggy and you having that signal problem is probably one of them.

Mine supported music streaming over Bluetooth but the quality was very poor compared to the phone quality.

Check with kufatec for a firmware update for signal issue, but yes they are buggy & some have been known to hold load with everything switched of & flatten batteries.
