    Right..............

I've finally decided to go for a set of Springs rather than a Coilover kit, not just due to the Money side of things but also as i've heard horror stories about Coilover kits. The cheap ones aren't a lot more than the springs i'm looking at so the springs must be much better than the Coilover kits.

My decission has come down to 2 sets that i feel are both probably good springs but need to know if anyone has had dealings with either sets?

Set 1. Eibach Pro Kit £180.52
    Set 2. Apex Kit £115.99

is the £60 difference worth it? obviously i would prefer to pay £115.99 but if the Eibach's are that much better than the Apex then i'm willing to pay the extra.

Had G-max on my audi 80 which is similar to apex i think and was great to be honest.Had a drop of 40mm,great handling and as smooth ride as on standars springs. If you dropping down too much u need shortened shocks.Sometimes you pay for the name but can`t really comment.Hope that helps.

Get the Eibach pro kit, they are progressive springs which give almost stock ride without lowering too much. Best combo is with shorter genuine sports shocks/1BE suspension.

I don't want the wheels to sit under the arches, I had a 2002 Mini Cooper S and i spent £1,250 on fully udjustable Suspension for it, the guy set it so the wheels were inside the arches and whenever i had rear passengers it rubbed really bad, so don't want that on this car as i have 3 kids and therefore constantly have rear passengers. I was thinking 35mm Max.

Just that the cheap ebay coilover sets (Under £250) ruin the ride Qaulity, make the car unbearable to drive and do not have a good lifespan, I may have heard wrong but i think it's likely to be true when the cost of them isn't that much more than a set of Eibach Pro springs.

Ah, I thought you were referring to decent coilover kits, after our previous discussion on another thread - I just assumed the cheap coilover plan had been disposed of.

I'm not a fan of using springs without fitting uprated shock absorbers - as per Adamss post

Yes, a few bills came in that put an end to getting a decent set of Coilovers lol.

So even though I agree a decent set is the best option, my budget will now only stretch to a set of springs.

Well....After a few conversations with Apex UK, I was really impressed with there customer service and how willing they were to help me even though I told them it was just an enquiry.

I spoke to the Eibach seller didn't really get the same vibe from them, so as a result I have just baught a set of 40mm lowering springs from Apex. They should arrive on Monday.

Not much i can do with those at the moment, but in a few months (She wants a Holiday so need to save my holiday spends!!! lol) i will be in a better situation to get a set of shocks, not sure if i will get Non-OEM or if i'd go for a set of OEM ones.
