I have ready through the 4 page Audi Finance thread, but can't find the answer to my question. I am due to order a car tomorrow. I have a very good general discount offer from an Audi dealer, but I have been told that the Audi Finance offer would reduce the price by another £1700 rather than the £3700 listed in Audi Finance worked example which would bring the discount closer to the 17% figure offered by some online dealers. In fact it would take it above the discounts I have seen on line.

Would be really grateful for some guidance on what to realistically expect.

    Michael

    Hi Mike,

This does appear a bit odd as the Audi website clearly states a £3,700 finance contribution (this could be model dependant - what are you looking for?). However if I run an A6 2.0 TDi SE through an online quote via DTD they are also stating a £1,700 deposit contribution - suggest calling Audi finance/Audi uk to understand what the current deal actually is.

As for discount i would suggest the 17% you have achieved is pretty good - Though in the current climate dealers may go a little further if trying to achieve an end of month bonus - suggest waiting a few days then making a few phone calls to a number of dealers/online brokers and seeing what they will do.. (I achieved a further 2% by doing this when I ordered mine in May)

    Good luck!

When I ordered my car, I was told there was indeed a generous discount for using finance, but it had two components, one from the dealer and another from audi finance.

It may well be that the 3700 figure includes both, but the additional 1700 figure is just the Audi Finance bit, suggesting the dealer has already given you their bit, the difference of 2000?

As you have doubtless read in the other thread, the finance can be easily paid off.

Thanks to both of you for replying. I think that, between you, you have answered my question. £2000 is the dealer contribution which is part of their 12% offer and £1700 is Audi finance. I might stick out for a couple more per cent which on a $45k motor can be £900, but I do feel (thanks to you guys) that I am not paying over the odds. many thanks!

    Michael.

    Hi Mike,

If you check Orangewheels.co.uk they explicitly mention the 1700 finance discount on a 2.0 TDI A6, the Orangewheel price seems to be the target even if buying from your local dealer, mine matched the discounts without question

    Michael.
take a look at the Drift Bridge website (New Audi Offers & Deals | Drift Bridge Audi ) they are offering over £5500 against an A6 saloon or Avant, although this may exclude you from doing a factory order. They own Epsom Audi and Walton Audi so are a genuine Audi dealer (I got my A6 from Walton Audi). Even if you get your car from the dealer you are seeing today it should give you some bargaining power

Well, My plans came to nought. Problem over trade in value - it was revised down by £1000 when we were going through the final details!! So, I backed out. Bummer.

For info, £2k extra trade in for "big" brands (Merc, BMW, Range Rover) if new car delivered to customer by end of September 2012. May wait and see if it renewed for another quarter.

Rang Epsom Audi and they gave me a price that was £1k more than my current offer and wouldn't discuss their follow up offer to beat it unless I went round personally. 60 miles may be worth it, but obviously they will want me to sign up there and then which I won't do.

Going to have a day off from thinking about it :-(

I think you are being given the runaround here. From my experience (of 2 Audi and 1 VW) PCP deals where there has been a dealer/VAG contribution to the package, the offer is not determined by there being a trade-in - you should be able to get the same offer for a cash deposit. Indeed when I bought my wife's Golf in April there was no trade-in as I was able to sell the car for more than they had offered me, to another garage - might be worth you trying that route although clearly the final price and the sale will need to be agreed closer to the point of delivery or you will need to sell now and be without the car until the A6 arrives. I would acknowledge that the trade-in offer on my previous A6 was strictly "book" as they were having to fund most of the dealer contribution themselves but at the end of the day the total cost of change was attractive.

Not surprised that Epson Audi wanted to see you in person as that is the only way they can truly judge if you are a serious buyer (not unheard of for competitors to do mystery shopping) and create the right offer for you. Also they couldn't give you an accurate price on your car without seeing it.

No criticism ofEpsom Audi intended. Just explaining that I had followed up on the advice given :-)
