Hi ALL, just bought an 2009 a6 TDI 140 , 6 speed, when i picked it up on friday the Bulb malfunction came up, the guys checked everything and found nothing, came back on this morning, All my lights seem to be working???

Q: with the lights on AUTO, should your tail lights also work.

Q: My mate plugged into it last week, no stored faults buit the service due could not be cleared, why i wonder?

Q: i could of swore the chassis number was visible thru the little window under the window, when i checked today, i cant see it any more.

    Thoughts please

Yes they should come on - remember they won't come on until the dipped beam comes on on auto

Some readers won't reset the service - you need vcds

It should be there - it will also be in your MMI under CAR and scroll down.

Hi chech earth wire for rear light units as they have a tendency to get a high resistance-gives sporadic bulb failure

Think this was pre-face lift only.....not 100% and guess it might depend on whether you have LEDs or not.....

I've had the odd bulb error (passenger front) but all bulbs were working fine..not had it for a long long time though

Have you checked your reverse and brake bulbs?
I read a bit of a funny one the other day where someone kept getting random bulb errors but when he checked, all were fine until it suddenly clicked that the bulb error came up when he went into reverse.
Sure enough, it was the reverse bulb that had gone

On a similar note, another had an issue with the brake switch (or something along those lines) which were the cause of his brake lights not always working
