    Default Aircon/Climate Control – 20-08-2012,09:03 AM
    My aircon doesn't seem to be blowing cold air, the fans kick in to cool it but no cold air comes out. Halfords tested it and the pressure didn't change between it being off and on.

    any thoughts?

    This is my first audi so am a bit clueless

    ps this is an A4 1.8 Avant, 1999

    Sounds like a leak in the system. The air con pump shuts off when the gas has all escaped from the system. Your best bet (if you've made sure there is nothing more obvious such as a snapped belt or a fuse gone to the pump) is to get an air con specialist to refill your system with dye to check for leaks.

    I had the same problem and it was a leak in the pump seal. Pricey repair, alas I have no air con at the minute! Have seen a leak repair canister that you can fill the system with for sale in *********. Haven't heard of anyone using it though.
