No Problem, hope it helps you as much as it helped me. it sort of helps you see why ET is so important as it brings the whole wheel in or out of the arch, so a lower ET will allow a wider tyre to be fitted than that with a higher ET.

The lower ET has more offset the higher ET has a greater inset ie,A4 b6/b7 is about 43-45 and an A5 is 30-35,The problem is if you fit a lower ET wheel on your car it moves the center line out which can reduce your negative scrub radius causing tramlining and twitchy steering,Even a car like a RS5 which is designed to run these wheels is very twitchy to drive

Does he definately mean Spacers? and not Spiggot Rings? (I hope i'm not teaching you to suck eggs, and sorry if this sounds like i'm trying to tell you what you probably already know) The hub diameter of an A5 is bigger than that of the A4 so if you put the rims on without Spiggot rings the wheels will be putting all the weight of the car solely on the Wheel nuts which in time will sheer and loose the wheel down the road!!! thats why the spiggot rings are placed to rest the weight of the car on the hub which can take the weight. Spacers will push the wheel thurther out into the arch (giving the effect of a lower ET rating) so if your Wheels already have the "Wrong" ET and you add spacers then you will end up with the wheels hanging out of the arches.

exactly. thought he was taking the ****. dont really like a few guys down at nirro.co.uk east london. seems like they look at you then decide the price and availabilty. heard them take the **** out of another customer who didn't know what he was talking about. not his fault. only problem is they have most bits i want. they wanted 650 for 19 inch s line blades with good rubber but the rims looked scratched and kerbed to ****. i think thats too expensive. what do you guys think?

Look on ebay, i got my 19" RS6 Rims really good price. Also for £650 you could go to Rochford Tyres (Southend) and get a set of 19" RS4 Reps brand new with Budget Tyres
