Hi all, I urgently need an ECU and new set of clocks coding in on my 98 1.4. VW want £68!!!!! and that's only if they can do it in an hour!!!!. I'm in Market Harborough but anywhere within 45 mins e.g Leicester, Northampton etc would't be a problem. Anybody know anybody?? I'm around tomorrow if anybody could possibly do it then
    Thanks Gareth

You will have to narrow your search as VAG-COM (even VCDS) cannot do this without the pin code which requires something like VAG TACHO as you ask. This is a much rarer program and rarer still in as legally owned copy as the genuine article costs £1000's and is only owned by locksmith pro's and you are unlikely to save much over the £68 quoted.

Bit confused then as I was under the impression that VAG-COM was needed to pull the code out of the ECU. Been told that VAG TACHO can code but not retreive the codes out of the ECU. Oh well, will have to take the hit then if I want it doing, might just try a 409 relay first though to sort out the problem though as it's the cheapest option, although not holding out much hope!, had it scanned but the fault codes aren't making any sense and tried a constant 12v supply to the ignition switch and there's no voltage drop out at the ECU when the miss-fire fault occurs. So basicly just want to rule out the ECU and the IMMO in the back of the clocks (got a spare set in the shed). It'll be on Ebay soon as spares or repairs lol.

No VAG-COM cannot pull the PIN code (Immobilizer - Ross-Tech Wiki), it can enter the info but not retrieve it.
