Ain't is so that you only really learn about a car once you have it!?

One cup holder up front which only appears to be of any use when you are stationary.

    Am I missing something?

Do you the front armrest ? You can get a cupholder insert for it.
The one on the dash is a bit iffy, lots of people have had coffee infected radio and heater controls.

I do use the arm rest, o motorways mostly. The arm rest has phone prep in it. I don't use it though and guess it could be removed.

Question is though, do I have to forfeit the arm rest totally or only when there is a drink in it?

    I did that Clockwork..

My GF and I always have a drink each in the car.. I of course have usurped the one above the £1500 RNS-e system but dont trust it.. Especially when I put my foot down.

I had an armrest in the Passat and miss it something chronic... Can you fit these in place of the rear ashtray (which is broken) I wonder?

Maybe a vent mounted cup holder..

    Really should do some work...

Theres a thing in the A3 you can do to have more cup holders - fit a USA style centre console which forfeits the little trays you get for 2 cup holders down where at the handbrake.

Not sure if anything like that is available for the B7 but I'll post a pic anyway.

I didn't have an armrest in the passat but the cup holders were great, big coffe cups or cans..everything was secure. Today was like being a teenager again, driving with the drink between my legs, can't believe I own an 08 car without a cup holder. Nuts!

Need to do something, when I leave home early doors with 4 hours in front of me on the road I need a coffee.
