Car is a 98 2.8 quattro saloon. Am I correct in thinking that access to this is by taking out the rear seat? If so how does it come out? And once I have it out what should I be looking for - an access panel I'm guessing?...

Problem with the fuel guage reading incorrectly. From full to around a quarter seems to be okay but below this it goes up and down quite a bit giving a false reading.

    Thanks

The tank has three level senders. Two of them are under the rear bench and the third is behind the seat back. You will have to PM your email address so I can send you some information. Please tell me which rear seat you have, bench split etc. If you have access to VCDS you can check the signal for the level sensors compared to the actual level displayed. The first non VCDS is to check the connector under the drivers side seat for corrosion and check the resistance being reported. The three senders are in series. Do not remove any of the sensors without having instructions on draining the tank. Regards Peter

Thanks Peter, I've been away working again so sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have a 2/3 split rear seat in the rear. I'll pm my address...

    Cheers
