Hey all (and you A6_Chris )

Right so my 2009 A3 1.6 is looking for a wee interim service. Who here has had dealings with Belfast Audi? Are they decent enough?

I usually take my cars to a local guy - he's really good, but as I want to keep this A3 for a good while, I want to keep it very well serviced so it'll be in top condition for years to come.

So yea, good stories/bad stories, just gimme opinions The £149 service looks like a decent deal, but how likely are they to say things need replaced when they really dont need to be?

    Cheers

Edit: I've noticed my brakes "clunk" sometimes. I usually hear a metal clunk when I'm braking gently at slow speeds - just as i gently push the brake it'll make a one off noise. I'm wondering is this just the brakes adjusting themselves, is something loose, or have I worn out a brake pad?

Overall they've been excellent for service and honesty - just that once they let me down but that was a one off due to lack of communication.

The interim service is an oil and filter change all in so that's what you pay. They won't do any additional work without asking and you're not obliged to let them do it.

I cannot fault them and they're professional in what they do and would recommend them to anybody - a word of advice (applies to everywhere really) is that when you hand the car over, get the service advisor out and do a visual body and mileage check and put it on their paper and get you and them to sign it so there isn't any funny business if anything does happen.

3 years so far without problem, just that once I mentioned above.

Saying that, they damaged my A6 twice and the first time of the A3 and they admitted it straight away no questions asked.

Recommended to anybody, very helpful and cheery people in all departments - you won't be disappointed.

What month and mileage is on your 2009 A3? Still might be under warranty remember and if you purchased the car from them you get a years Audi warranty from your purchase date.

If you don't want to go to Audi, try our forum Sponsor, Walsh Motors who's also in Belfast and is a highly recommended VAG specialist by many.

Cheers Chris! Actually my sig reminded me that its really a December 2008 A3 1.6.
Mileage is 45,000. Mostly motorway miles but I do tend to drive it rough when I am in/around town.

I got it from SERE in January who said they did a service just before I picked it up (36000 miles). I note that 35k is a full service. I'm not confident they did a full service including brake fluid change however.
I'm thinking I'll do an interim at Audi this time, then next year go for a bell and whistles service.

    SERE .... <cringe>

Best get the oil changed, more than likely they didn't use the right spec of oil so you're wise getting it changed.

Your DIS will tell you what service is needed - oil change or the filter (air etc) and oil change.

Like I said - Walsh Motors can do the same job for cheaper and use the correct oil and genuine parts - I'm just picky and use Audi.

Yea, DIS is showing Oil service. When I pull the peg out, it shows --- for the other service (when it's finished showing the distance to the OIL service). I have long suspected SERE screwed something up when they reset the service indicator as I expected it to tell me how long until the next full service.

I'm like you - very picky. I'll give Audi a go this time. Last (and only) time I was there, it was for a key coding (paid by SERE!). They cleaned the car inside and out which I thought was a nice touch!

Sounds like it - the service reset usally re-appears after 300 miles or so so something definitely isn't right.

With both intervals you will get a distance xxxxx miles and xxx days

Keep us updated on what happens - their number is 028 9038 0000 but I would advise talking face to face for bookings.

Remember they've moved to the Sydenham Road up past the Odyssey so don't be looking on Boucher for them!
