    Hi All,
Firstly sorry for the long post..

I'm a new member here, hoping someone can help me out with a couple of fault codes.
Car is a 3.0 TDI Quattro Cab on a 56 plate. approx 77,000 miles.

I have VCDS, and will attach the errors below.

A couple of weeks ago, the DPF light came on (On it's own, no management light)
This was shortly after startup, and no errors seemed to be stored on VCDS.
It went off after switching the ignition off and on again.
I then had a 150 mile trip with no issues and drove during that trip in sport at approx 75mph for at least 20mins. (thinking it may need a re-gen)

The light has not been back on since, I have measured the soot levels after the trip and they read as below after a 30 mile drive:

    Monday,23,July,2012,08:48:02:10074
    VCDS Version: Release 10.6.4 (x64)
    Data version: 20110418
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Address 01: Engine (8H0 910 401 A)

    08:47:40 Group 104
    0.24 (no units)
    9.0 (no units)
    13.5 (no units)
    1230 km Mileage

    266.8°C Temperature
    265.5°C Temperature
    7 mbar Pressure
    21 mbar Pressure

So, I thought everything was ok..............However I now have engine / emission warning light on (see below errors)

The glow plug error has been coming up for a while, any suggestions or should I just change all six plugs at this mileage?
Any thoughts on the DPF warning light and then sensor error, faulty sensor?

    Cheers All

    Hello Ritchie,

Did you find out the problem yet?

My wife's A4 3.0 tdi quattro cab has come up with all 6 cylinders glow plug open circuit fault codes.

I cannot believe all glow plugs have simultaneously blown, I wonder is there a controller which could be faulty?

    I hope yours is sorted,

    Regards,

    Michael

p.s. I should point out that the glow plug light is not illuminated except on startup as normal and the car is not and has not been in limp mode with flashing glow plug light.

    Hi Michael,

Mine was indeed two duff glow plugs, I changed all six as I figured they had all done the same mileage and with two failing decided that was the way to go. All six seems unlikely, but not impossible I suppose. You can apparently measure the resistance of the individual plugs to see if they have failed.

For anyone having similar DPF issues to mine, the problem was down to the differential pressure sensor. Cost about £45 + Vat from Audi and car had been ok for approx 2500 miles.

I do now have some new "issues" of course, but thats for another day! (flickering xenon and drivers seat moving on its own and flattening the battery...)

    Regards

    Richie

    Thank you Ritchie,

If ever I have a duff glowplug I always change the set to keep the current even, but I have never had a set of 6 go at the same time.

What is odd is that after I cleared the fault codes the light came on again when my wife next used the car, but before I could check VCDS she filled the car with diesel and the light went out. There has never been a fault code for the fuel level sensor which baffles me, but with these new complicated cars that is not difficult.

    Regards,

    Michael
