    Hi,

I understand there is a secret menu on the MMI that can be accessed to change certain params.

Can anyone advise me on the button presses to get into this please. I understood from previous cars, that this was 'setup+menu' but this is not working.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Tim

You need to enable it with vcds first.

Can to post a picture to which system you have as there is a difference between the 3G and 3G+

I seem to be having some issues with posting pictures, as they are around 40k in size.

    FW :-

    Media Version:-
    HN+_EU_AU3G_P0530
    Nav. database version:
    8R0060884AH ECE 5.13.8

The buttons are (starting at bottom)

    Menu Back Car

    Tel bottom left/bottom right) Media
    Dial and joystick
Nav (top left / top right) Radio
    Volume (right hand side)

    Does this help?

    Thanks again for your help

    Tim

    Sounds like 3G+ to me.

There is a post in I think the A6 C7 section where Jon (a8 tech) has posted instructions - after lunch I will fetch this out and post the link.

Mark (MFGF) has compiled this for 3G+ but I'm not sure if there is a difference between the MMI Touch cars and non touch cars but you can try this from A6 C7 VCDS Tricks

I will try and find Jon's post too.

    5. Hidden menu
Enable access to the green engineering menu in the MMI
    [Select]
    [5F - Information Electr.]
    [Adaptation - 10]
    Select Channel 6 and Read
change the value from 0 to 1 then Test then Save
Reboot the MMI (Press MENU, central MMI knob and top right softkey)
To get to the Hidden Menu, press and hold the CAR and MENU buttons for a few seconds. You may have to have a few attempts - if you don't press them at the exact same moment either CAR or MENU activates. You know if you have done it right because the red LEDs in the buttons do not illuminate.
WARNING!!!! BE CAREFUL!!! Do not mess with settings in the Hidden Menu unless you know what you are doing. On earlier MMI versions, people managed to activate the bootloader menu and fried their MMI. Use at your own risk. If in doubt, leave well alone!
    EDIT

Knew it was somewhere - https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...492#post689492

Jon says its channel 5 wheras Mark says its channel 6 - try both

I got no idea where Hampshire is but if you have a look in my signature I have compiled a vwaf map of vcds users if you want a look before purchasing beforehand.
