My new one is Daytona Gray and hope swirls are not as visable then my current Brilliant Black A6 which was a right mess from new and looks terrible now!

Any thoughts on what i could ask to be done i.e left wrapped and not washed? Prehaps i am worrying about nothing?

    Many thanks

It looks as if Slough Audi is part of the Sytner Group and they own a number of Audi dealers including Audi West London, Audi City, Audi Reading. I suspect that the centre in Oxfordshire is a regional centre where Sytner prep all cars (not jsut Audi's) being supplied to leasing companies. When I got my A6 in 2003, whilst the supplying dealer was technically Whites of Camberley, because I purchased via the company I worked for at the time's leasing provider it actually was prepped and delivered from White's Business centre in Southall which delivered cars from all of their brands that were purchased by leasing companies and the like. As I recall the prep work on the car was excellent but it is a few years ago.

The issue you will face here is whether the dealer will do anything you request. Their contract is with the leasing company and ultimately it is them who the answer to so they may feel obliged to get the car fully prepared. You would probably need to work via the leasing company to see if they would allow the car to be released PDId but not cleaned. Also if the car is badly prepared then you can reject it on delivery and get them to do the job properly.

On a more positive note I had my new A6 fully prepared by the dealer and the result was perfect (to my eyes at least). I have since polished it myself (AG SRP) and coated it with AG EGP giving me a result similar to the £400+ AutoGlym treatment offered by the dealer.

What ever you decide enjoy the car when it arrives

Many thanks for everyones responses. The car arrived today on a transporter and it does not have a mark on it! Had bright sunlight over it and no nasty swirls at all, i am very happy!

Makes a change to get a well prepped car and a nice hand over. Last Brilliant black car was a right mess from day one!

    Regards
    John
