Hi mrdon. Yeah mine is exactly the same except it does not do it in 2nd or 3rd gear. It only jerks in 1st, it does make it better when its in tip mode and i can usually change into second before it jerks.

I spoke to Indie Tech in Milton keynes and they suggested that i get it in there for a test run and diagnosis.

Is it worth getting a warranty for it. I saw one online for high mileage cars. It was about 350 and because its got high mileage you have to pay 50% of the claim.

    Hi all

    I have a 2004 1.9tdi 130 cvt auto avant with 181k on clock.

Same issue with mine again. Previously ECU went at 95k and then hydraulic pump stripped gearbox at 109k so full rebuild.

Debating on what to do if it implodes again..... I have changed the Oil at 40k but I get the impression this is just a flawed gearbox

Most probabli the forward clutch has a slip, common failure of this gearbox 01J. If in revers its working perfectly ,than the problem is what ive mentioned.

I would like to think that an oil change will solve the problem.

Is it as bad in tip mode or does it improve if so i suspect it is the front clutch,do you know if its been uprated to 7 plates

Usually works out about £800 with seven plate upgrade ,double oil flush and gearbox in and out
