Firstly, does anyone have any experience with these things?

Chip Tuning Box AUDI A4 1.9 TDI 81 kW 110 BHP PowerBox ChipBox | eBay

I'm toying of getting one because my 99 90Bhp A4 B5 is a bit dead and think this might be a cheap way of getting a bit more power out of it without going for a remap. I don't want a huge increase in power, just enough to help with overtaking etc.

Also, I had a Peugeot 407 that had a Diesel additive tank on it that I had to get refilled, i think the stuff was called Eloys fluid. It was meant to help with DPF regen and engine cleaning. Is there a similar system on the Audi A4?
    Thanks.

Hey, in reguards to the chip box, I was given one of these and tbh it made no differance to the power, they are just a cheap resistor in a box and definitly not worth 40 quid. You can get the same efect by wiring in a 40p resistor from RS components. If your willing to pay 40 quid I would recommend getting a proper chip of ebay. I know everyone recommends about not getting the cheap remaps/chips, but I have one, and for 40 quid I cannot recommend a better upgrade. I guess you have the AHU engine? If so, you have the same as me, so to remap the car you need to replace a chip on the ecu. I found a guy from Poland (i think) on ebay that sells remapped chips for 42 quid ish. I took the gamble and went for it, bit of a pain to fit as you need to solder it to the ecu, so I would recommend getting a professional to do it for you if you have no real soldering experiance. But after getting over fitting it I have been 100% amazed by the change to the engine, genuinly my 0-60 went from 13s down to 10s. Overtaking is much easier, and the best thing is that mpg has improved from an average of 45-50 upto 50-60. I used to get 550 miles per tank, now i get 700+. In fuel payback alone I have recouperated the 42 pound costs in 3000 miles.
I have done 10,000 miles with the chip and still so please with it, people warn of the damage potential from cheap remap chips, but my experiance has been great. I cannot recommend it enough....
Sorry to write an essay, but I hope it helps.
And as far as I know there are no a4's with additive tanks

    Cheers

Thanks for that. Yeah it's an AHU code engine alright. Any chance of a pic of the mod?

    heres the chip
    AUDI A4 1.9 TDI , !!! Chiptuning !!! Performance chip | eBay
The original chips are soldered to the ecu, if you ask the guy selling these chips he will include chip sockets to suit, so you can mount these to the ecu and then plug and play chips as you please.
I'm away for a few days, but when im back i'll whip out the ecu to get some pics.
