The car itself runs on the canbus system.

No idea on the speaker upgrade but I'm sure it could be plug n play.

User NHN will be able to advise better than me

so is the sound system canbus?
is there a way too find out on the back of the head unit?
i know that the speakers are connected through plugs so i imagine that i should be able to cut through it and put spade connectors on the end but if it is canbus i wont be able to do this will i?

    thank you

The Sound System is a module in VCDS so I assume they are connected to the canbus and you can make coding changes too.

Look on the sticker on the headunit to see if there is a CAN related diagram.

The radio itself is Canbus - although looking at the speaker outputs you should be alright although a PM to NHN would confirm things.

Canbus is the networking system used to communicate between modules, send signals, the speakers arent part of this system & are either wired from the head unit or amp in the boot.

You would need to take a door card of & test for fitting as it may well require an mdf bracket or the like, you'd need to pop radio out & check wiring to the speaker outputs to see what yours are spec'd for.
