Flushed with my success at changing the Cambelts, tensioners, pulleys, aux-belts, tensioners, pulleys, thermostat, water-pump and mounting bushes at 147k miles, now at 150k I am thinking of flushing the gearbox ATF and replacing the filter. I am reluctant to do this as the gearbox has performed flawlessly for the 10 years I have had the car. So I am looking for some advice:-
    a) Do I leave well alone as it is supposedly lifetime use of the current ATF and filter and the gearbox is fine?
    b) Do I do the change? I have the manual detailing the process and VCDS.
and c) If I do the change, should I also flush the ATF pipes, radiator and auxiliary radiator? Just draining the gearbox does not seem sufficient as I will only get about 3 litres of crud ATF out with almost the same still lying in the pipes and radiators.
    Any advice would be great.

Well, If you ever get any help on this, I'd also be interested.

I've changed fluid on most of my old cars, and there was always am improvement in smoothness, noise and the quality of the changes......well worth doing.

Of course, it wasn't the complicated job it is on an Audi!

I'd ba particularly interested in working out a way of properly flushing the old fluid out, otherwise there will still be plenty of contaminants diluting your good work...

Maybe take off one of the pipes to the oil cooler and blow an air-line into it ?
