i have replaced the battery in my keyfob and have tried to re sync it via the owners manual, ie press one of the buttons on the remote key, insert the key in the door and either lock or unlock the vehicle once, then underneath it said the re synchronisation should not take more than 1 minute.

i have tried it a dozen times and it still wont work, the central locking works fine useing the key to lock and unlock the car but no joy using the keyfob.
possibly a duff battery so i will try another.

    any advise welcomed

The answer to this issue on my car was a visit to the main dealer who remapped the keys to the car. It's happened twice in five years now.

i have tried to resync it as per the book, also with the key in the ignition and then press the buttons, central locking is all working fine by using the key in the lock, all this started when the carpet got wet from a blocked drain bung below the battery,so i am lost for any more ideas other than to take it to the main dearer and see what they want to sort it.

Now you tell us the CCM has been under water. Have you removed the CCM and dried it out and all the carpets and cable harnesses. Tell us what you have done.

    Regards Peter

I currently have the same problem Nigel. Underneath my passenger carpet front and back was a huge puddle of water. The water can come from three main sources ... 1. the drain holes under the battery clogg up with leaves and silt so the rainwater level rises until it breaches the pollen filter housing and runs straight down under the passenger carpet, 2. rainwater runs under the trim at the bottom of the windscreen straight onto the pollen filter (this was one of my sources as the bit of trim was cracked) and 3. the hose for the rear washer (if you have an Avant) becomes disconnected in the passenger footwell and screenwash/water floods out (this was my main cause).

At the moment my interior and wiring is still drying in the sun. I tested the CCM on Friday but it still won't allow me to reset the keyfobs so I'll leave it a while longer to dry out.

In the meantime I've bought the necessary parts needed to fix all the leak sources.

i was very lucky,my ccm was not wet inside the box as such, when i took it out only the main plug connector was wet and the main plug itself,i left the carpet up for about 4 days to dry out after soaking up the water in the carpet backing,i removed the passenger seat to get the carpet up right to the rear footwell, car is working fine now but only when i lock and ulock it using the doorlock, the alarm, central locking and the 15 second delay to open the other doors via ignition all works as it should,i will try and resync again in the next few days, will keep this page updated.
