    hey, i went to change the pads on my '99 a3 1.6 and could not push the pston back. i have found out they need to be rewound by pressure and twisting but just wonderd if anyone knows if it possible to doby hand or where to get the special tool from? thanks

    Halfords do a tool for about £20 i believe.... I''ve also been told you "make" one utilising a 20mm socket and modifying it with a hacksaw.

    Get a cheap G clamp and that is, or you could use two big flat screwdrivers to lever (wound) the piston back in.

    cheers. ive asked at halfords and they told me they didnt do one for audi or vw. would have thaught it wudnt make a difference if they all do the same job. il go back down.
