Seatbelt light comes on and bleeps whilst driving

Hi All

My seatbelt light indicator lights up intermittently and bleeps after I have been driving for some time. Happens when going over speed humps and braking. Anyone else experienced this??

Hi Chatty. Have you looked under the seat to see if there is a loose connection? Also sometimes if I have a heavy bag on the passenger seat it sets off the warning light and chime..

Had a quick look and wiggled the catch where the belt goes in around a bit but it's still happening, could the circuit board inside the catch be damaged, how does the car sense the belt is in/out?

Replace under seat airbag connector with crimp/soldered connections. This cured my random warnings.

I'll check the connectors, it it right under the seat, if i move the seat all the back/forward can I get to it?

You'll need to unbolt both sliders, front and back ends and tip the seat up. Will require a triple square socket (can't remember the size though).

Make sure you disconnect the battery for half an hour before doing any work on the airbag wiring!
