Passat B5.5 Headlights - POOR

I was driving my daugther home last night in my wifes Passat and I noticed just how bad the headlights are.............really really poor bordering on dangerous if you ask me??

What experience if any have you guys had with these?
Do you agree?
Has anyone changed or upgraded and if so to what?

RING H7 HIGH POWER 80w SPORTZBLUE HEADLIGHT BULBS H7 | eBay

They supply really usable bright white light with a bluish tinge. I have them fitted to my A6 and also had them on my Jaguar X type and Ford Mondeo St Tdci.
I've never had any blow on me, well in fact I did have to replace one after about 3 years so fairly normal I guess. Although they're supposedly for off road use I have never in 4 years had an issue with them.

I don't get anyone flashing me, no one in front braking or putting their rear fogs one, never been pulled by the police and they've also passed 3 Mots, just from regular garages I might add.

I'm seriosuly considering getting these and adding them asap as its downright dangerous IMO as it stands.

There is a thread HERE, with a "How to" regarding cleaning the lenses of the lamps. It makes a big difference. I fitted Osram Nightbreakers, don't have any experience of the Ring bulbs though.
