I own a 2002 nov Golf GtTdi 150 and have had some problems recently.
it developed a knocking noise in engine and has since had the camshaft replaced. It ran ok for a week then would not start in morning ..when cold. The ecu was found to have a dry joint and is now starting ok.But now for the first minute of running it runs rough and seems down on power and judders when accelerating.once it has juddered it runs 100% perfect..Please help !! it has had 2 two main sensors replaced mas and oxy sensors.
    Please help !!! thanks

You may find that its not the hydraulic cam followers out too. I had this on my PD150. The story went........

    loud noise from engine
VW replaced turbo and manifold under warranty
    noise still there
replaced camshaft, noise gone, but rattly on startup
    all cam followers replaced

    Problem solved.

Rough engine could also be a dead engine coolant sensor or much worse the flywheel and or grease/lubricant housing has been punctured/damaged. Only thing is vag would want to strip and replace - inc clutch if you listen to leicester vag - they claim sub-frame is removed then laser aligned after etc (£1200!)
Hope it's summat simple in your case
