Heater/Blower not working? Only cold, unless max?

Hi,

This is my first post on here, so if I do anything wrong, sorry in advance.

I have 57 Golf MKV 1.9TDI Match, had this just over 2 years now. Everything has been fine until recently. All of a sudden my heater/blower doesn't seem to be working properly. It only blows cold, luke warm at best, air unless the temperature is turned right up to max, and then I finally get hot air! If I turn this down just a bit it reverts to blowing cold/luke warm air?? I'm really confused by this, although I'm no expert so it could be something simple? Also, although I might be imagining this, I'm sure the blower isn't as powerful as before. On 4 it still seems strong, but on 3 it seems average at best, not loads of difference between 1-3?? Like I said, I may be imagining that so need to try it on another but thought I'd mention it just in case it's relevant?

The car needs the air con recharged + serviced, but I can't imagine this would make a difference?

Any help on this would be really appreciated.

Hi

I know this is a really long shot, but by chance are you still registered and did you get to the bottom of what the problem was - I have the same problem on my Tiguan and cant find anything about it anywhere online, driving me nuts.

I have a vw jetta 2008. the blower motor stop to working. I checked the fuse and it's broken, so I changed it, but the blower same not working.
I measured the voltage on the blower but it's 0V. After checked the blower resistor voltage, but same 0V. Do somebody have any idea for this problem?

Cant say say it's the same issue, but my problem ended up being a temp sensor, don't know which one, but was £67 + vat for the part and about 2 hours labour if that helps?

Thanks for response, but my problem is with the cabin blower, not the engine blower. And my car has manual climate control.

Good site for here, myTiguan Forum as you are a Tiguan driver. The Tiquan has about 6 temp sensors in the ventilation system, see the posts on the subject.

Cheers, had spoken to a guy there who was very helpful but we couldn't find the final sensor. Had to give in and let the garage do it - at least bargained on the price!
