Not sure what you mean by that? Sawtooth on the rears is usually indicated by a droning noise, with excessive wear on the inside of the tread, usually caused by misalignment (toe-out in this case), so get the rears aligned before, or when, you have new tyres.

Did your man give you a print out of the alignment (before and after)?

Sorry no, it was a mobile fitter. Lack of knowledge on my behalf and didn't know to ask for one

Sawtooth on rears does indicate rear wheel alignment was out. Had this on my '06 Estate.
But believe it's a seperate issue for the noise which I also thought was wheel bearing.
Does yours creak when you go over speed bumps? Has your noise changed since you've had
wheel alignment. Either in tone or when it happens and goes?

I read the threads in here about control arms. Have a look? Changed my outer control
arm bushes first (not the arms themselves, they're £151 each inc. VAT for VW part which has
been uprated) and noise went. As did the creak
Afterward another re-alignment was needed (making two, one before and one after) Had mine
done on a Hunter-equipped laser station

I would say its the bearing too! Sounds exactly like a shot bearing.

Hi there, no it doesn't creak on bumps. And the noise is the same since the alignment. More like a blub blub or a whoop whoop - difficult to explain

So does look like the wheel bearing. Have a service due soon, will point it out to them
