I toyed with waiting for the RS4 but it would have been a bit of a stretch and the 3 is a bit too small for my needs(2 dogs and 2 kids) so the S was the obvious alternative, for me it's perfect and in dynamic mode with the sports diff doing its thing I actually seem to be quite a good driver!
Will have to see if I can get a match up with a 3 to see how much is in it.

There will not be much in it in real world driving. I think the "real" quattro of the S4 will make it handle better than the RS3.
The 4 platform is the best all round package IMHO.
