2007 2.0T S line special edition colour DIS now blank and miles ect blank also

hi guys

i have a 2007 2.0t s line special edition with the colour DIS between the rev counter and speedo

went to wales today and as crossing the bridge the DIS colour display went black and the mileagereading in the speedo clock and the date time in the rev counter went black also like they switched off :-(
i stopped the car and turned the engine off and back on but still black :-(

spoke to a audi garage and was told that its around £500 for the cluster to be replaced or about £300 for a repair to the cluster but that would meen not having the car for 3-4 days :-(

is there a fix for this other than the above costs >? anyone in bristol that people have used ? or near bristol ?

can i remove the cluster and repair my self ?

any help or options or ideas would be great
