I have various VAG group cars in the family, one of which is a 1998 AUDI A6 Avant 2.8 quattro.

I have just noticed that the VIN number is not displayed by VCDS when conducting an autoscan.

All other details are correct including the mileage and the modules that are present on the vehicle

I am fully conversant with VCDS and my Genuine Hex Can Lead is fully registered and licenced with RossTech.

I am also using the latest version of VCDS

Has anyone else seen this (or not seen this before) on an older vehicle ?

Many thanks in advance for any replies.

'98 Audi is too old to have VIN recorded in the modules - that started with Immo3 and later. The module does not know it's VIN so VCDS cannot show what the module does not know!
